Ilona Szigethy is the 2005 Hilgeman Group Safety Scholarship recipient.
Ilona has a degree in nursing and is a licensed RN. Her desire is to
complete her masters degree in safety and ultimately work in the safety
field where she can utilize her safety and nursing skills. Ilona has
particular interests in ergonomics and industrial hygiene. In fact, her
graduate project is the coordination of an indoor air quality analysis of a
commercial print shop. Several strong candidates applied for the
scholarship this year but the selection committee overwhelmingly agreed that
Ms. Szigethy possessed both the academic qualities and the work ethic to
edge out the other top finalists. The selection committee, which is made up
of safety professionals from some of the most respected companies in the
Midwest, feels confident that Ilona will be highly successful in her future
safety career and wishes her the best of luck.
